ANNI
The Agricultural Agenda Nigeria Initiative (AANI) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2, which focuses on eradicating Poverty and Hunger through a bottom – top approach of smallholder farmers’ aggregation and agricultural extension programs to its respective value chain across the 36 states of the federation, plus the FCT and across the sub-Saharan Africa. AANI emphasizes the importance of the agricultural value chain, food security, and job creation as essential components for national economic development.
AANI has adopted Climate Resilience and Sustainability on its operations as a deliberate effort to reduce deforestation and carbon emissions by replacing wood and fossil fuel-based energy with renewables; thereby improving soil health by enabling climate-smart farming practices such as precision agriculture and organic farming, which significantly crashes energy costs with the application of solar and wind power instead of expensive fossil fuels. Our persistence to off-grid clean energy solutions allow our smallholder farmers to increase productivity without high electricity costs.
At AANI, we operate under our watchword "Farm Well! Eat Well!” which is also known as the lead convener of the "Outgrow Hunger Project, in Nigeria and Africa," reflecting its commitment to combating hunger for the well-being of humanity. AANI engages in various activities and programs aimed at synergizing with Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) involved in Nigeria's agricultural value chain, thereby promoting sustainable development and economic growth.
Through these efforts, AANI strives to create a hunger-free society by transforming the agricultural sector into a key driver of income growth, food security, and employment opportunities.
The goal is to fast-track food sufficiency, security and sustainability through a systemized farm to value chain approach, using the Out-growers’ Model and Clean Energy System, as a deliberate effort to solving climate change and environmental challenges.
AANI is also known for its large based Smallholder Farmers Network across the 774 LGAs with over 20 million members on its Data Bank.
